We have 3,000 square feet that we'll expand into and share with Unique Designs and ADORE Events starting today! December 1st is the day that we've been waiting for! We start painting, cutting out walls, redesigning and working towards a vision of style and class that will showcase this new shared talent in an amazing way!

Not only are we redecorating our studio, we're changing our website and our blog! Our entire image will reflect this fabulous new look! More sneak peeks of the renovations to the studio to come soon. We'll be tearing down drywall in the next few days. We'll post the pictures on the new blog! How fun!

Paul and I often talk of how we can't believe this is happening to us. To have such incredible people in our lives who we'll get to work with now so closely is an amazing blessing. A special thanks to Giovanni, Danny and Kenya at Unique Designs and Amy and Angela at ADORE. We are in for quite an adventure!

ADORE Events, Inc. came to us several months ago with a vision for their new look. I was immediately in love! Amy and Angela have worked countless hours with creating a brand that represented their partnership and future. ADORE, Unique Designs, and Footstone sat down and brainstormed for hours exactly what we envisioned for this shoot... and I LOVE it! Hillary, Kari and Lauren, from Solutions Bridal were absolutely incredible models. The Perfect Gift and The Village Jeweler loaned us the fabulous jewelry. Dawn and CJ from Dawn & Co. did the girls' hair and nails, and Tiffany Gay did their make up. I'm thrilled with how amazing they look! We're so honored to have been a part of this. This is just a sneak peek of the images. ADORE will launch the new website soon so I'll post a link when it's live. How exciting!

Wow... is it already November? We had a super busy time getting ready for Oktoberfest in the Village. It was awesome. Over 4,000 people were estimated in the streets for over five hours! We got to meet a lot of people and take a bunch of cute group shots of families and friends. Now we're getting into the holiday season and have already started taking portraits for Christmas cards!

We have had the most incredible year. Can you believe it's already been a year? Or, maybe that it's only been a year? I can't believe our first year of business has gone so well. Of course, we hoped and prayed, but we couldn't have imagined it any better. Within the last couple of weeks we've gotten some crazy opportunities come our way. I can't wait to see how they unfold. Then I can't wait to tell the world! Sorry for the sappiness... but thanks to all of you have been a part of this past year. We couldn't do this without you!

Solutions Bridal Expo was this past Sunday at the Hilton Hotel at the University of Florida. What an event! The hotel was beautiful; vendors did amazing jobs with their booths; brides were super interested and excited... we've already booked three weddings and several more appointments made... wow! A special thanks to A'vie for coordinating such a great show. Thank you to Betsy at The Plant Shoppe for creating such a lovely arrangement for our booth! Thanks to Solutions and all the girls for doing such an amazing job with all of the details. And, of course, thanks to our friends and family who helped create and set up this contraption! Of course we couldn't do anything simple. Thanks TJM Studios for providing this first image. Now we're getting ready for another big expo coming up! Jay's Bridal is hosting an expo at the Center for Performing Arts on Sunday, September 27th. Come see us there! We'll be adding more albums and fun stuff to our booth!

Solutions Bridal Expo

Come see us this coming Sunday at Solutions Bridal Expo at the Hilton at the University of Florida! The event is from 12 to 4:30. You can get tickets at Solutions in advance for $5 and at the door for $9. For promotion, the girls got a little crazy and put on gowns, drove around in limos, provided by AP Limo, and waved and screamed at passersby during rush hour traffic! We're honored to have been asked to be a part of it! Check out their craziness...

Kendall's Senior Shoot

The first time I saw Kendall, I knew she'd be super photogenic! She is absolutely adorable and has an attitude too...LOVE it! She has impeccable taste in shoes. Her jewelry was fantastic. You couldn't have asked for a more beautiful bride or a more beautiful day. The ceremony and reception were outside at Bay Laurel in Micanopy, Fl. It was quite hot, but we were all prepared with fans, water and tissues! Angela Renick with A'vie was amazing; Kathy with KB's Kake Creations did an incredible job with the cake; Mary Nell catered and the food was delicious; Betsy with The Plant Shoppe created breathtaking arrangements; it was a perfectly beautiful day!

Wow. It's been a rough couple of weeks. We're still alive! I promise! I ended up in surgery last week and have been recovering this week. Paul is taking great care of Win and me. I really appreciate your emails and prayers. I'm recovering well and am looking forward to a normal week next week. We've got two weddings that I still need to put up and several portrait sessions too. More soon!

Little Floe

Her name is Florence Elizabeth, but she'll go by "Floe", pronounced Flo-ie. How sweet. She was only six days old so she cooperated very well! She just slept the whole time...until, the accident. I won't go into details other than it's always a risk when we take off the diaper.

We can't wait to shoot Floe again in a few months!

Little Mia

What a beautiful baby girl. We have enjoyed getting to be a part of Chrissy's pregnancy and the beginning of Mia's life. She and Adam were so calm doing the shoot even though the first one is sometimes scary! Mia was a darling until she decided we were done. Even though they don't speak, babies sure have a way to tell us what they want! We can't wait to see Mia again when she's three months old.

There was an amazing turnout at the festival this weekend! It was estimated up to 10,000 people came out! For our first event, I think that's pretty remarkable. Thanks to all of you who came out and showed your support! And thanks for spending money! Many of our artists reported it being the best festival they've ever been a part of. We met Mark several months ago at a fundraiser at Meze at Sisters restaurant. Mark is an incredible musician. He plays with the band, The Also Ran. He'll be performing at the Haile Arts & Music Festival on Saturday and Sunday, March 21st and 22nd in the Village. Come out and see him live and check out the best of the local artists! If anyone noticed, there were almost two months that I didn't blog. Ugh. I know. That's bad. Luckily, the reason was because we were slammed for the holiday season! That's exciting, right? Does that make it ok? Giovanni doesn't think so. :)

So here are several of those sessions that didn't get blogged during those months. I also didn't think about putting our Christmas cards on here until I saw another photographer do it on her blog. Great idea! Is it silly to do that now... two months later?

Great Ideas for Brides

Solutions' mock reception gave brides good ideas for what they can do with music, their entrance and first dance, cutting the cake and decorating at the reception. After Taylor and Chris cut the cake, prizes were given away to lucky brides including portrait sessions, gift certificates to Belks and Macy's and other fun stuff. Mark your calendars for September 13th, 2009 for the next show!

The expo was amazing! They had almost 400 brides! It's getting bigger and better each time Solutions does it. A'vie Weddings & Events did an amazing job. The Hilton looked incredibly classy and the event went off without a hitch (no pun intended).

The Newest Album

I am so excited about this album! We'll have it on display at Solution's Expo this Sunday at the Hilton Hotel at the University of Florida. It is from a wedding that we shot on Jacksonville Beach. The weather couldn't have been more perfect. The bride and groom, Katherine and Scott, are such a sweet couple. Katherine's dad performed the ceremony which made it that much more meaningful. We got the vows from her dad and included them throughout the album. I'll post more images of the wedding later. Here's a sneak peak!

Amy & Kyle

We've known Amy for several years now. I met Kyle when he came out to stunt with Amy for a photo shoot. Yes, stunt. Kyle was a University of Florida cheerleader and Amy was a competitive high school cheerleader. The two are quite impressive with partner stunting. I think this is how they met... guys, correct me if I'm wrong. They are now the cutest couple and we were excited to work with them. At one point in the shoot, Paul said, "Ok, Kyle. Sorry if this is cheesy, but I want you to tell Amy how beautiful you think her eyes are." Kyle responded, "I'm ok with cheesy. I was a guy cheerleader." What fun.

Ashley and Danny

Ashley and Danny are engaged to be married in April. We took them out to Kanapaha Botanical Gardens for their engagement portrait session. They're a fun couple and we're looking forward to being a part of their wedding day. We think you guys should leave the reception on your motorcycles.

Our New Models

The Thorps' faces will most likely end up covering our walls and our advertising! Jordan, Bailey and Karter were up for anything we asked them to do. They were serious for some shots then sweet and silly for others. The best part is that they are a playful family so capturing their energy was simple. We just allowed them to enjoy each other and not worry about the time.

Paul and I met Jim and Kelley about a decade ago when I started teaching cheerleading camps and working in The Spirit Team office while I was in college. We also traveled the country with them and worked at their cheerleading and dance competitions. Paul and I don't travel with them any more, but we're lucky that we get to spend time with Jim and Kelley on a regular basis. It was a pleasure to get to spend the afternoon with them!

Little Haley Janes turns one year old! The photo shoot was done at home so Haley would be comfortable and we could capture her sweet, yet energetic temperament in action. Paul followed Haley around as she interacted with her family, played in her room, and flirted with the camera in her warm and innocent way. All Paul had to do was point the camera at her and she would give a fabulous smile.

Melt My Heart!

Of course a photographer's son would have an obnoxious amount of pictures taken of him! Paul and I were in the studio on Saturday morning which we do even if we don't have an appointment because we love going to the Farmer's Market in the Village. I didn't realize that Paul had snuck away with Win to take a few pictures. Wait, that sounds bad. I DID realize Paul had taken Win. What I didn't realize is that he was taking pictures! I think this spur of the moment photo shoot captured what will probably be my all time favorite shot of Win. This picture will most likely end up nice and big in the front of the studio!

Chip and Meredith Overstreet are getting a jumpstart on their holiday cards! We met Chip and Meredith many years ago at North Central Baptist Church. We did their Christmas portrait last year and were excited to be able to do it again this year. Since last Christmas, we opened the studio in the Village which is now our first choice when it comes to outdoor portraits. Check back soon for individual pictures of the kids!

Solution's Expo

Solutions Bridal Expo at the University of Florida Hilton Hotel was a beautiful event and we were happy to be a part of it. Every type of wedding vendor imaginable was there with gifts and ideas for all the brides who attended. We had over 200 brides visit our booth to register to win a free wedding package valued at $4800! Paul and I enjoyed speaking with all of you! Congratulations to Rebecca and Eric who won the package! The couple is working with A'vie Weddings & Events for planning and we're very excited about working with them again. The pictures I've linked are of the mock reception that Solutions put on to give brides many great ideas. Paul and I are looking forward to the upcoming weddings!

Ally Dickinson and Chris Ruff couldn't be any cuter, or happier. We had such a good time shooting these portraits. Ally is super rambunctious and willing to let loose and have fun. Paul and I are excited to be a part of Solutions Bridal's Expo on Sunday, September 7th at the Hilton Hotel. We are hurriedly preparing all of our albums, prints and give-away items. Some interesting news...we had a private investor offer to finance a wedding so that we could give away a wedding package to a lucky bride at the expo!

Paul has a great idea for our booth. There won't be any others like it! Let's just say that I'm glad my parents are coming into town with their F150 or we'd be in trouble trying to load this thing.
